Winter 2017 – 2018

Brassington

The Lime tree was encroaching on the property and low branches caused an obstruction and shade. [PICTURE 1] We crown-lifted it and undertook lateral crown reduction to prune the tree back off the property and reduce shade on the garden and property. The objective was also to leave the tree looking as natural as possible in its shape ie that of a typical lime tree, so that to the casual observer it appeared as if we had done nothing to it . An ancient oak tree circa 250 -300 years old shed a large limb. We sensitively pruned it to
thin and reduce it to lighten its load. Small branches were removed predominantly from the outer canopy. It is important to maintain the trees balance so that its movement in high winds is not eventuated.
