A mature beech growing in limited space above a road and a retaining wall. The tree had been pollarded in the past circa 25 years ago.
We re-pollarded the tree 600mm above the original pollarding points because of the maturity of the re-growth.
This was appropriate management for this tree in this location to control its size by either trimming the re-growth as a clipped tree or re-pollarding to the same pruning points every 3-5 years
